The collaboration between the Fondazione and Italian academic institutions is a strong bridge between universities and sport, built to promote awareness and expertise to train the talent and professionals of the future. Bocconi University, University of Verona, Università Cattolica, IULM University and the Politecnico di Milano are just some of the universities involved in the GEN26 project.
Collaboration with the CRUI Foundation
This agreement supports excellence in sport and studies, promoting dual careers. It is a long-lasting legacy that will increase academic education and internships on topics related to the most important sports events, as well as strengthening tools to support university student athletes. The agreement will provide 20,000 sports enthusiasts with the possibility to experience the Games in first person through the volunteer programme.
Collaboration with SDA Bocconi School of Management
Transmitting and enhancing expertise and talent to train new professionals for major events worldwide is the underlying goal of this synergy with SDA Bocconi School of Management. The first ever edition of the Executive Master in Business of Events (EMBE) at SDA Bocconi will begin in September 2024. EMBE (www.sdabocconi.it/embe) is a post-experience, modular executive programme, taught over 16 months across 5 cities (Lausanne, Milan, Paris, Riyadh, Rome). This original project combines the managerial and entrepreneurial dimensions, also by leveraging the global power of sport. The initiative adapts perfectly to the mission of Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, that is leaving a long-lasting legacy in the development of human capital to benefit the country.
Experience Milano Cortina 2026 as a Reporter
The Olympic Information Service Sports Reporting Programme offers Italian Journalism and Communication students the opportunity to become reporters at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. Promoted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), as part of the Gen26 Education Programme, the project will select 10 young people between 18 and 26 years of age, fully proficient in the English language. Selected candidates will work from 2 to 22 February 2026 with the Olympic Information Service (OIS) team, assisting international experts in the coverage of the event and experiencing the unique chance of being reporters at the Olympics Winter Games. Applications must be submitted by 31 July 2024 (more info here).
