The Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic emblem represents the natural evolution of Futura, with white becoming multicolored in analogy to the physical phenomenon of light refraction, in which the beam of visible light breaks down into its individual colors as it enters a prism. A powerful symbolism that is at the heart of the Paralympic message.
Colors are also the main component of the Northern Lights, a majestic natural phenomenon rarely observed below the latitudes of the far north. But occasionally this extraordinary nocturnal rainbow appears over our Alps and especially on the Cortina Dolomites. The colors of a Northern Lights, captured in 2002 in the sky above Cortina, fill the symbol of Futura, whose declination is dedicated to the Paralympic world. A strong and accessible symbol, studied with the International Paralympic Committee.
A strong and accessible symbol developed with International Paralympic Committee also taking into account the needs of the visually impaired.
Thus, Futura completes its circle and ends up representing the Olympic and Paralympic Games in its entirety. From the sustainability and inclusivity of white and transparency, to the inclusivity and sustainability of all the colors of the sky, different and unique for each of us.
