Gen26: “Projections - Classy emotions”

The first step in ‘Trofei di Milano Cortina 2026’ has begun. This training project spreads the values of the Games to 40,000 students in Lombardy and Veneto.

Trophies of Milano Cortina 2026 enters a new phase. The training course, which through its events embraces the values ​​of education, culture and youth inclusion, has reached a new chapter in its exciting journey. In fact, in conjunction with the Winter Games Week, a new program of Milano Cortina Trophies 2026 – Education, Culture and Sport for Youth has begun: “Projections - Classy sporting emotions”. This project, which falls within the scope of the GEN26 Education Programme, includes 70 interactive meetings in schools with screenings of exclusive Olympic images organised by FICTS, Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs.

40,000 students from Lombardy and Veneto were involved

For over sixty years, more than three and a half million students have taken part in the training course, learning the values ​​of sport and promoting an active lifestyle. In 2024, more than 40,000 students from 70 schools in Lombardy and Veneto joined the initiative, joining the educational mission carried out by Trofei di Milano which, starting last year, has been able to count on the collaboration of the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, opening its initiatives to all territories hosting the Games.

A unique opportunity for young people

The project organised by FICTS is part of the GEN26 Education Program of the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 to promote the importance of sport, Olympic and Paralympic culture and to involve the new generations in the celebration of the Milano Cortina 2026 Games.  “This project represents a unique opportunity for young people. Through the meeting between sport and education, we spread a culture of sport, health and inclusion, preparing the new generations for the future” commented FICTS President Franco Ascani.

A grand finale with special prizes

All activities, with free registration, offer participants a diverse range of experiences, from "Games" which stimulate healthy competition, to "Values" which promote solidarity and mutual respect. To support schools, FICTS Italia a.s.d has made available, in addition to an engaging and original program of interactive screenings for classes, 27,234 videos on the SPORTMOVIESTV.COM platform as a tool for learning, inspiration and promotion of the Games.

The grand finale is scheduled for the Arena Brera in Milan from 8 to 10 May 2024, where special prizes and sports material for schools will be up for grabs in addition to prizes for the participants.
