The Organising Committee is looking for suppliers with experience for the construction and operation of the temporary power supply and distribution systems
Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 (“Fondazione”) is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of the tender process aimed to acquiring the best proposals regarding the project related to the construction and operation of the temporary power supply and distribution systems for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games (the "Games") from the leading players in this field.
Fondazione is looking for highly reliable suppliers with experience and qualification in the electrical sector, who would like to contribute to the success of the Games. Those interested in participating in the consultation will be invited to attend the Contractor Day, where the project will be explained in more detail and to undertake the accreditation process at the Fondazione’s procurement portal.
Project boundary description
The construction and operation of temporary power supply and distribution systems within the Olympic/Paralympic venues includes:
- executive design of temporary MV/LV installations for each venue;
- procurement (rental/supply) of the equipment and components required for the construction of temporary facilities in quantities, types, and within the timeframe of the project timeline;
- implementation of temporary facilities in Olympic/Paralympic venues, management of additional unscheduled operations, monitoring and maintenance on failure during the period of the Games with provision of technical personnel (operational teams);
- management and operation of the temporary generators installed in each venue, extraordinary and breakdown maintenance, energy vector management during the period of the Games with the provision of technical personnel (operational teams);
- dismantling/recovery of equipment and restoration to ex ante status.
Equipment and components
The project involves the rental/supply of: mobile MV/LV substations with MV/LV transformers and MV switchboards, individual MV components such as circuit breakers/disconnectors, MV cables, LV switchboards of standard use and used for temporary events, LV cables used for temporary events, LV power UPSs, temporary power generators powered by HVO energy vector and energy vector storage tanks, automatic transfer switch (ATS).

Regions: Lombardia, Veneto and Tentino-Alto Adige
Olympic/Paralympic venues: Municipality of Milano, Assago, Rho, Cortina, Verona, Livigno, Bormio, Valdisotto, Anterselva, Tesero, Predazzo.
Batchs under tender
Fondazione may make an allocation by cumulative lots for groups of venues based on specific characteristics:
- geographic location;
- delivery dates.
Energy partners of the Games
The participants note that the calling of the consultation and the selection of suppliers will take place in compliance with the exclusive rights of communication, promotion and association with the Games that Fondazione has assigned and may assign to certain operators in the energy sector as part of its commercial programs. In particular, Fondazione has signed an agreement with Eni S.p.A. in support of the Games under which Eni, among other things, assumes the status of Premium Partner in relation to the product category "Energy solutions design, oil, gas and temporary electricity generations" with reference to which it represents the sole owner of the rights of communication, promotion and association to the Games.
Modalities of participation
Those interested in participating in the consultation should complete and submit this form to Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 by 03/05/2024 at e-mail contractorday@milanocortina2026.org if they meet the requirements therein.
Following the subsequent instructions that will be released by Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, those who meet the requirements will be able, upon confirmation, to participate to the Contractor Day on 15/05/2024, , where the main contents of the project will be illustrated. Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, according to its organizational needs, could organize more than one session of the Contractor Day or might allow remote connection through special redirection link to videoconferencing channels.
The consultation will also admit the participation of temporary grouping of companies. For clarification, it is possible to write to the email address contractorday@milanocortina2026.org before the 24/04/2024 indicating in the subject line "CONTRACTOR DAY - MILAN CORTINA 2026 - Information Request."
