Paralympic Culture Festival in Taranto

Milano Cortina 2026 is participating in the event promoted by the Italian Paralympic Committee to promote inclusion through sport.

Also this year the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is participating in the Paralympic Culture Festival taking place from 14 to 17 November in Taranto. The event, promoted by the Italian Paralympic Committee, aims to convey, through practical sports tests, the values ​​that characterise the Paralympic Games and offer a different perception of disability.

Greetings from Mattarella

This fourth edition of the Festival was inaugurated by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, who, accompanied by the President of the Italian Paralympic Committee and vice-president of the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, Luca Pancalli, visited the Milano Cortina 2026 stand, greeting the representatives of the Organising Committee and its CEO, Andrea Varnier. The Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi was also present at the opening of the event.

Students try Paralympic sports

The four day festival includes debates, testimonies, exhibitions and meetings focused on the ability of sport to overcome limits and barriers and to integrate all of civil society.​ Furthermore, more than 1,000 students from Apulian secondary schools can try their hand at the winter Paralympic disciplines including Para Ice Hockey, Wheelchair Curling and Para Alpine Skiing set up by the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026. They can also try Wheelchair Parkour, a wheelchair obstacle course provided by Ottobock.

The initiative falls within the scope of Adaptive Winter Sport, the project of the GEN26 Education Program through which Milano Cortina 2026, in collaboration with the CIP and the Sports Federations, intends to promote inclusion through sport and give active support in the promotion of Paralympic sports.
