Do the Games involve an environmental assessment?

Yes, the Games Delivery Programme (together with planning, organisation and communication) falling under the responsibility of Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is subject to a Strategic Environmental Assessment. The procedure is still underway; it involves the Lombardia and Veneto Regions and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano. The first stage involved the presentation and approval of the preliminary report. In the second stage, the programme, along with the environmental report, is provided to the public in order to collect observations. The third stage — monitoring — will follow the organization of the Games and implementation of measures to protect the environment.
