Alpine Skiing Ski MountaineeringThe Stelvio course stretches over 3,186m with a total elevation change of 987m and a maximum gradient of 63%. One of the most challenging sections is the San Pietro jump, where athletes soar over 40m before landing at speeds exceeding 140 km/hr. In 1985 and 2005 it hosted the Alpine Ski World Championships, while in 1995 and 2008 it hosted two World Cup finals. Since 1993, it has been the annual stage for the Men's Downhill World Cup.
