Privacy Notice on the processing of personal data for access to the “Press Room” platform
Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, with registered office in Piazza Tre Torri 3 in Milan, C.F. 97866790153, P.IVA 11199200962, as the data controller (“Data Controller”), informs you pursuant to EU Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”) on the purposes and methods of processing of your personal data within the context of access to the "Press Room" Platform (“Platform”).
The Controller has appointed its own Data Protection Officer (“DPO”), who can be contacted by e-mail at DPO@milanocortina2026.org.
1. Purpose of the processing and nature of the provision of Data
In order to register on the Platform, the Data Controller collects certain identification data such as first name; last name; email address; phone number; country; Media Outlet/Organization which are mandatory and are marked with an asterisk [*]. On the other hand, the Press Card number and the inclusion of a link to the latest published article (collectively "Personal Data" or also "Data") are optional.
2. Purpose and legal basis of processing
Data are processed without consent for:
- guaranteeing access to the “Platform” and enjoyment of its contents; managing one's profile and sending communications relating to the Games (e.g. press releases). The processing is necessary for the performance of the Terms and Conditions accepted by you;
- to comply with legal obligations, regulations and/or EU legislation and provisions issued by Competent Authorities; as well as for the prevention of fraud and unlawful activities. The legal basis is the fulfilment of a legal obligation by the Data Controller.
3. Methods of processing
Processing may take place with or without the use of electronic tools. Personal data are protected in such a way as to minimise the risk of destruction, loss (including accidental loss), unauthorised access/use or use incompatible with the initial purpose of collection. This is achieved by the technical and organisational security measures implemented by the Data Controller.
4. Data Retention
The Data Controller processes Personal Data for the time necessary to fulfil the above-mentioned purposes and, in any case, until the end of December 2026.
5. Access to Data
The Data may be made accessible for the above-mentioned purposes to (i) employees and/or collaborators of the Data Controller, acting as authorised data processors and/or System Administrators and (ii) third parties appointed as data processors.
6. Recipient categories
Your Data may be disclosed, where required, to control bodies, law enforcement agencies or the judiciary - as well as to third parties - who will process them as data controllers and/or processors.
7. Transfer of Data
The Data Controller may transfer the Data outside the European Union by adopting the most appropriate means and safeguards identified by law and by the Supervisory Authorities.
8. Rights of the data subject
As a data subject, you have the right to obtain access, rectification, deletion and portability of your personal data in the cases provided for, as well as the limitation of the processing concerning you (Art. 15 et seq. GDPR). You may exercise these rights by sending an e-mail to privacy@milanocortina2026.org. Finally, if you believe that the processing carried out is in breach of the provisions of the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Supervisory Authority for the Protection of Personal Data, as provided for in Article 77 of the GDPR itself, or to take appropriate legal action (Article 79 of the GDPR).
