The International Olympic Committee (IOC) invites students from Italian Universities specializing in Journalism and Communication to live a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: becoming published reporters at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.
The OIS Sports Reporting Programme
The OIS Sports Reporting Programme was launched with the Tokyo 2020 Games, under the guidance of the IOC and with the support of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) and Italian universities, to identify and nurture new talents in international sports journalism.
A Dream Come True
Thanks to the IOC initiative, selected students will have the chance of covering competitions and interviewing athletes from around the world as official reporters of the upcoming Winter Olympics.
Selection process of 10 Young Talents
Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, as part of the Education Programme Gen26, has joined the IOC initiative and is promoting a selection to identify 10 young aspiring journalists. They will get a chance to cover the event, alongside experienced international reporters.
Participation requirements and methods
The contest is open to young people between 18 and 28 years of age, students of Journalism or Communication with an advanced knowledge of written and spoken English (full proficiency). Applications must be submitted by 12 a.m. on 12 November 2024.
Selection phases
The selection process involves three steps: sending a motivational letter and resume in English, completing a training day in Milano, and taking part in a field experience during one of the Milano Cortina 2026 test events.
A unique experience
The 10 candidates selected must ensure their availability to work on a fixed-term contract, from 2 to 22 February 2026, to live the Olympic dream and write about the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 as protagonists. The young reporters will join the Olympic Information Service (OIS) team, the official English-language information service of the Games, for accredited journalists from all over the world.
