TIM Group and Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 together for the forthcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026: TIM will be the Official Telecommunications Partner and will provide ultra-fast fibre and 5G connection services.
The partnership was signed by Andrea Varnier, Managing Director of Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 and Pietro Labriola, Managing Director of TIM, in the presence of the President of the Organising Committee, Giovanni Malagò. For the occasion, TIM will upgrade the mobile network in the locations involved in the event and in areas of special interest such as airports and stations, and will provide over 10,000 mobile utilities and routers in 5G and 4G.
In addition, TIM will be cabling all the Olympic and Paralympic venues to provide the Fondazione with advanced voice solutions, as well as two telecommunications and data transmission networks to connect all the venues in the Milan area, Valtellina, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige, bringing high-performance connectivity to high-potential tourist locations.
"We are proud to welcome the leading Italian telephone operator," commented the CEO of Milano Cortina 2026 Andrea Varnier. “An important addition at a significant moment: the Paris Summer Games have just ended, and now the world attention has shifted to us and the whole country. The signing of this agreement consolidates the team of companies that have chosen us and will accompany us all the way to Milano Cortina 2026. Telecommunications represent an essential element for the success of the Games and, with the arrival of TIM, we are sure of having a solid and reliable partner at our side.”
